Knitting classes in West End, Brisbane

In these relaxing, comfortable, and calming hands-on knitting classes you can learn to knit the basics with beginner handwarmers or get support tackling more complex knitting patterns.

All knitting levels are welcome. The knitting circle is a space to slow down, sip some tea, sink into a comfortable armchair by the fire, have a chat and do some knitting.

If you are new to knitting, purchase a handwarmers kit for everything you need to knit your own pair of handwarmers.

You will receive step-by step guidance in a relaxed, supportive environment. Instruction is gentle and patient and the focus is on unwinding, restoring, relaxing and learning to knit.

The Handwarmers kit includes your choice of quality yarn, bamboo knitting needles size 6mm, a pattern, darning needle and a personalised craft bag.

Knitting circle is held in my spacious, high-ceiling living room nicknamed ‘the ballroom’, with a selection of colourful, comfortable seating by a grand fireplace.

Experienced knitters can purchase yarn or knitpro rainbow bamboo circular needles from my collection and select more complex knitting patterns to tackle with my support.

Skills you will learn as a beginner:

• Knit stitch (garter stitch), Purl stitch, (how to alternate between both and create ribbing)
• How to cast on stitches (start a project)
• How to cast off stitches (finish a project)
• How to read a pattern
• How to sew up seams.

Handwarmers kit includes:

• Lovely ball of yarn, knitting needles, pattern, darning needle, personalised craft bag.

It generally takes 3 sessions to complete the handwarmers as a complete beginner, one session is enough to get you started with all the basics.

Knitting Circle is every Thursday 6-7:30pm - Jane Street, West End, Brisbane.
